These fluorescent dyes provide a higher degree of environmental safety and can be used on potable water.
Depending on concentration, the dye color ranges from a bright dark red to magenta color. One tablet in 60 gallons of water gives a strong visual concentration of 1 ppm, or one tablet in 600 gallons of water will give a light visual concentration of 100 ppb.
