IRROmesh Base Node
This customizable data logging system utilizes wireless, solar-powered nodes that communicate with each other to relay site-specific soil moisture and soil temperature data. The nodes automatically establish a mesh network for up to 20 sensing locations. Each Relay Node and End Node can connect with up to three WATERMARK Soil Moisture Sensors, one WATERMARK Soil Temperature Sensor, and a rain gauge such as the AeroCone Rain Collector (each sold separately). End Nodes send data to corresponding Relay Nodes, and each Relay Node then sends data to the Base Mode. Sensor data is recorded every 30 minutes and transmitted every few minutes during daylight and up to every 90 minutes during darkness. The range of signal is up to 1,000 feet for Relay Nodes and 1,200 feet for End Nodes at +10dBm, broad line of sight, when mounted on level ground at least 10 feet high and 5 feet above crops, grass, brush, or foliage. Data collection can be done with an IRROmesh Logger or through a Cellular Gateway. The IRROmesh Logger collects data from the Base Node on-site for manual retrieval and review on your laptop via USB connection. The AT&T Cellular Gateway and Verizon Cellular Gateway each allow for automatic data transfer to the web through a cellular modem for real-time access to data. Each Cellular Gateway requires cellular data coverage at the gateway’s location, and data service is available at www.sensmitweb.com. Monthly subscription fees are required with either Cellular Gateway option ($12.00 per Base Node; $6.00 per Relay Node or End Node; and $6.00 per Cellular Gateway).
