Easy to operate, the magnetic locator has two controls, a sensitivity control and a combination on/off volume control. These two separate controls allow you to turn off the unit and resume your work later without needing to readjust the sensitivity setting. To operate, turn on the unit, adjust the volume, and set the sensitivity to a nominal setting of 2. Simply sweep the locator back and forth to easily locate objects such as property markers, septic tank lid handles, manhole covers, well casings, valve boxes, cast iron pipes, steel drums, unexploded ordnance and more. The magnetic locator’s audio tone will remain constant until you approach a target. The pitch will then increase and peak once the locator is directly over a target. A built-in low battery indicator with a flashing red LED alerts you of low power status. The waterproof sensor housing and water-resistant electronics enclosure ensure reliable performance even in harsh weather conditions. The magnetic locator’s electronics package is made of impact-resistant ABS plastic, and the sensor tube and base plate are constructed from 6061-T6 aluminum. Soft carrying case included.
