A compensator lock protects the instrument during transport or storage and also functions as a compensator checking tool. The top-mounted optical peep-sight provides quick reference. Other features include a precise focusing knob, horizontal circle, right angle prism for easy bubble viewing, and fine motion knobs on the left and right sides with friction-braked rotation and endless horizontal drive.
